Farm Field Trip

Yesterday we went on a field trip to Country Lane Tree Farm yesterday. This was very surprising because the last few times that Ricky has been around any kind of farm animal he has been absolutly terrified, but wouldn't admit it like a typical boy, haha, he would just hide behind mommy and say "I'm not afraid, I want to stand here and hold your leg".

So we arrive and he was hesitant at first but before we knew it he was not only petting the animals, but also feeding them, holding baby animals, and even milking a cow! I think the best part was when he was feeling very adventurus and tried to pet the duck, the duck didn't want to be petted so he got chased accross the yard by the duck. He went from "here ducky" to "AHHH, Leave me alone" in a blink of a eye, he was aware of where that duck was the rest of the day and would not turn his back to it.

We saw 4 big Turkeys, a peacock with all it's feathers spread, several ducks and chickens and roosters just roaming freely on the farm. We fed goats, lamas, sheep, reindeer, and pigs. Held baby bunnies, ducks, and chicks. Viewed live honey bees through the safty of glass (then they told us that there was a hole for the bees to go in and out, yikes! not as safe as we thought). Planted a sunflower, milked a cow, and found our way through a massive straw maze that ended with 2 great slides. What a great time.

Here are some pictures.
